Greetings! My name is Thomas Cooper. I was born and raised in Goldsboro, NC and moved to Greenville in 2001 when I started my undergraduate work at East Carolina University. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades education with concentrations in English Language Arts and Social Studies. I graduated from East Carolina with a Master's degree in Middle Grades Education in December 2008.
The summer of July 2008, I participated in a Fulbright-Hayes Educational Grant to visit and explore the cultures of Japan. I was there for 28 days and visited many temples, shrines, schools and people.
The summer of 2009, I had the privilege of going back to Japan again, but this time as an invited presenter/speaker on the topic of "Teaming in United States Middle Schools" at Hiroshima University as well as the Global Partnership Schools Conference.
This summer, June 19 to be exact, I will be getting married. This is an exciting time for me and for my fiancee.
I have 1 dog, a dachshund named Saxon, and enjoy hiking, all sports, and photography. I look forward to working with you this year!
